   The University of Connecticut Police Department is a fully functional police agency with the same statutory authority as any municipal police department in the State of Connecticut. State and internationally accredited, the department is responsible for the protection of lives and property at the University of Connecticut and all adjacent areas within the jurisdiction of the UConn Police Department. This includes the main campus in Storrs and the regional campuses located statewide. The UConn Division of Public Safety also includes the following constituent parts:

Community InformationPosted on: 05/01/2012 One of the services provided by the police department in the past has been to unlock vehicles for citizens who had locked themselves out of their vehicle. Unfortunately due to the ever increasing technology being incorporated into vehicle locking systems we will no longer be able to provide this service. The police department will however make every attempt to assist you with contacting a professional service to unlock your vehicle and we will be happy to respond to your location if you are at all concerned for your safety.
